Open house Thursday to discuss solar project

Albiasa Corporation, a subsidiary of Spanish based Albiasa Solar, will hold an open house Thursday, July 9, from 5-7 p.m. at the Wigwam Resort, Arizona Room, to discuss its planned 200 megawatt (MW) concentrating solar power (CSP) plant in Mohave County near Kingman.

Assisted by the Arizona Department of Commerce, Albiasa's project will create up to 2,000 construction jobs and more than 100 permanent jobs for Arizonans.

The Albiasa Kingman project involves over $1 billion capital investment and, with molten salt thermal storage, will generate more than 665,000 MWh of renewable solar energy annually. It should be completed in 2013.

Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to USinfo@albiasa.com, and to visit www.albiasasolar.com for additional information.
