Pulte Homes recognized
for employee volunteerism

The Sacramento/Reno Division of Pulte Homes has been awarded the 2009 Hands on Sacramento Award for Encouraging Employee Volunteerism.

Local Pulte employees participate in numerous volunteer efforts each year for organizations such as Make-A-Wish Foundation, HomeAid Sacramento, PEACE for Families shelter, Adopt a Family and several other BIA events.

This year, the Sacramento/Reno Division of Pulte Homes was nominated for the award by Pam Herman of HomeAid Sacramento.

“HomeAid worked with Pulte Homes employees on the construction of a 12,500 square foot, 39-bed Emergency shelter for battered women and children,” Herman said. “For the two years that we worked with the Pulte team on this project, everyone was in awe of their commitment, dedication, and overall compassion for others.”

Mike St. Germaine, vice president of construction for Pulte Homes Sacrament/Reno Division, accepted the award at the Community Services Planning Council's annual People Helping People Awards luncheon. “We are so fortunate to be recognized by such an amazing organization that serves the Sacramento area,” Germaine said. “Pulte’s involvement in all of these causes is truly a group effort.”

The annual People Helping People Awards recognizes individuals, businesses and organizations for high quality civic engagement. The award for encouraging employee volunteerism recognizes a service club or business association for implementing service projects that encourage employees to serve their community and make a significant impact.
